"In 2006 I created www.shortstoryradio.com with the aim of promoting the short story genre, giving writers a unique showcase for their work and allowing visitors to listen to entertaining stories free of charge.
"Since its launch Short Story Radio has had over 100,000 visitors from around the globe, not just the English speaking world but countries such as India, Iran and Vietnam as well. We have broadcast stories from many published writers, but also given some writers their first opportunity to have their work made available to an audience. Our regular short story competition has attracted a large number of entries and discovered some exciting new talent.
"One project that I have very much enjoyed working on is the series of five short stories by Sue Moorcroft that have been recorded for hospital radio stations. I was delighted when Sue agreed to be part of this project, as I knew her stories were just right for the project's intended audience, and would bring some pleasure and comfort to people in hospital. Working with Sue and the reader, Tamara Kennedy, has been a great experience and the resulting recordings have been warmly welcomed by hospital radio stations around the UK."
