Serials:

A Place to Call Home
I really enjoyed writing this serial with The People's Friend (summer 2005).
A Place to Call Home is about a family who have been living in Germany and have to go home to England in a hurry. Except eldest daughter Briony, who's eighteen, decides she'll go to France with her boyfriend, instead ... Property prices have gone up, investments have gone down, where is the family going to live? Why can't Guy get another job? Why does Sarah feel off-colour? Why doesn't anyone notice that Ellie is unhappy at school? And don't even ask what Ripple the dog's been eating!
Now available as a Magna Large Print book!

Between Two Worlds
Published at the end of 2007 by The People's Friend.
It, too, is a family drama, about two families becoming one. The problem is that the two halves are from vastly different lifestyles!
Soon to be available as a Magna Large Print book!

Workshops

Already a tutor for the excellent Writers' News Home Study Division Short Story course and Fiction Writing Course (www.writersnews.co.uk), and the London School of Journalism's brilliant Short Story and Novel course, Short Story Course and Novel Writing Course (www.lsj.org), I'm on the roll of tutors at the University of Leicester, Northampton Centre, Adult Education Northants and Writing School Leicester.

Courses

Last year I wrote two courses for the London School of Journalism: the Short Story Course and the Personal History Course. To the Personal History Course I've now added a Family History Supplement.

And the award ...
I was the Katie Fforde Bursary Award winner for 2002.

I hadn't won anything since the Secretarial Duties prize at Wellingborough Technical College when I was 17 - the last time I showed promise - so I was capering-about-the-room delighted at the presentation and got on everyone's nerves. I even gave a witty speech, I'm told! Me! Witty! I wish I could remember what I said.

Image
And thanks to Victoria Connelly for taking the photo and letting me use it! :)
All good things come to an end. The Award has passed to other writers in subsequent years.
